The Sudan Media Forum will participate in RightsCon 2026 in Lusaka (May 5–8), the world’s leading summit on digital rights, bringing together global stakeholders to discuss technology, human rights, and the future of the open internet.
SMF will organize a roundtable titled “Sudanese Media Between War and Digital Restrictions” on May 7 at 2:00 PM.
The session will address violations against journalists, internet shutdowns and their impact on access to information, the challenges facing Sudanese women journalists, and the decline of international media coverage of the war in Sudan.
During the event, SMF will also launch a campaign calling on African media to stand with Sudan and strengthen solidarity and collaboration.
